Is Social Discovery able to download TikTok videos?
To collect from TikTok, we recommend using the Web Capture scanner's Single Page Snapshot functionality. While TikTok video downloads are not a fully supported feature, we are sometimes able to collect the videos in the Content Store of your Case Matter.
In order to collect from TikTok it is important to capture videos individually by selecting on the desired video in order to navigate to the video's isolated post page. Because this is not a fully supported feature, you will unfortunately not be able to view the captured video through the Social Discovery UI. Though we do have plans to flush out this functionality in a future release, currently the MP4s of the downloaded videos are only accessible through navigating to your Case Matter folder (which in a default installation would be "C:/ >> Users >> [username] >> AppData >> Local >> Social Discovery >> Matter[matter number] >> WebCapture >> [Collection Name]"). To make them easier to find, search "MP4" to display any videos that have been downloaded.
Please note, however, that these videos won't be accompanied with any captured metadata, beyond what is collected from the Post Page snapshot. That said, it should be possible to show the correlation between the captured video and the collected post page data captured in Social Discovery.
